Your assignment this week is to watch the famous Martin Luther King, Jr. “I have a dream ” speech. You should be able to find it easily on the Internet. On Friday , Jan. 27, you will share one part of the speech with the class. In other words, you will stand in front of the class and repeat the words that Martin Luther King, Jr. said, and then you will explain the importance of the words. You must share at least 20 words, which is about 1-2 sentences. The only part that you may NOT share is the following line:
“I have a dream that my four little children will one live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Be ready on Friday- we will do this during class.

Some of you may have seen posters up on campus about a TED cafe, and some of you may even be familiar with the website that inpires this- ted.com. It is an opportunity for leaders in different fields- from music to poetry to math to art- to share their work in a 20 minute talk. I think you will be surprised at how CRAZY good some of these are. Go to ted.com and browse a little. Find an interesting talk and watch it for at least 10 minutes (although I am sure many will wind up watching the entire 20 minutes). Tell me who you listened to, what you learned, and what you thought about it. Post by Friday.
